Our Mission
First Presbyterian Church Preschool’s mission is to nurture each child as they grow developmentally, socially, academically and spiritually.
Curriculum
We believe in teaching the whole child. First Presbyterian Church Preschool implements developmentally appropriate practices (i.e. child-centered and hands-on learning) evolving from credible research into child development. Our curriculum fosters creativity and early academic concepts through science and discovery, music, prayer, pre-reading, math readiness, along with gross and fine motor activities. The curriculum also focuses on the social, emotional and cognitive aspects of children.
Student Age
Our Preschool offers classes for ages 18 months through 5yrs of age. All children must be the appropriate age on or before August 31st of the current school year.
Daily Schedule
A daily schedule is posted in each classroom and will consist of activities that build on security, independence, creativity and early academic concepts. Your child’s daily schedule will include circle time, center time, outdoor play, arts and crafts, music and
movement, lunch, and both small and whole group lessons. Chapel lessons with music are offered each week.
Staff
Our caring educators are devoted to creating a warm and nurturing environment where staff and families work alongside one another to cultivate creativity and independence.
Teachers are regularly provided with professional development to further enhance their knowledge of early education and to offer your child new and exciting opportunities to enrich their experience.
School Hours
First Presbyterian Church Preschool operates from 9:00am to 1:00 pm, Monday through Thursday.
Our program follows the Union County Public Schools calendar.
