Journey to the Cross

February 14th -

Ash Wednesday

On Ash Wednesday, Christians often mark their foreheads with a cross of ashes as a sign of mouring and repentance as we enter the time of Lent, knowing that we are all sinners in need of salvation.  Lent is a 40-day period of spiritual discipline observed to commemorate the 40 days Jesus Christ spent fasting in the wilderness, enduring temptation by Satan, following his baptism.  During this time, Christians may chose to fast, which means to deny themselves certain foods, habits, or vices, to focus instead on spiritual wellbeing, prayer, and biblical study.  The imposition of the ashes in the form of a cross reminds us that Christ died to cleanse our sins and make a way for our everlasting life.  We invite you to join us on Ash Wednesday at 6:30 PM in the sanctuary for worship and the imposition of ashes.

March 24th -

Palm Sunday

On Palm Sunday, we celebrate the triumphant entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem at the time of Passover shortly before his crucifixion.  Just as those who bore witness to Christ's entry, our children will wave and carry palm branches in worship.  To commemorate the cheers and shouts from the crowds of followers, we will make a joyful noise to the Lord with a musical celebration during our Worship Service at 10:30 AM.

March 28th -

Maundy Thursday

Maundy Thursday marks the final night Jesus spent with his disciples before his arrest.  Many know this time together as "The Last Supper", where Jesus and his disciples celebrated Passover and the first communion was held as He intentionally broke bread and shared wine with the message "do this in rememberance of me".  Join us for a Maundy Thursday Worship Service with Communion in the Sanctuary at 7:00 PM.

March 29th -

Good Friday

Good Friday commemorates the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and his death on Calvary.  This somber rememberance reminds us of the heavy cost of sin and the love Jesus has for us by accepting the full judgement on himself so that we may be forgiven.  Join us for a 30-minute midday worship service beginning at 12:15PM in the Sanctuary.

March 31st -

Easter Sunday

Celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ with us!  On Easter Sunday, we celebrate the dawn of salvation - Christ is Risen!  The followers of Christ found the tomb empty and Jesus Christ's triumph over death and sin was realized as he appeared to them.  Our Worship Service starts at 10:30 AM.  After Worship, the children will enjoy an Easter Egg Hunt on the Sanctuary Front Lawn.
