Discipleship University

Discipleship University (DU) is a new way of doing Sunday School.  Instead of classes that are demographic and divide people by age or group them by affinity, we seek to put believers of all ages in the room together who are desiring to learn about a particular subject.  Our classes are six weeks long, intergenerational, and vary in format (video, discussion, book study, etc.).  The classes fall into four categories: Biblical Studies, Christ and Culture, Christian Formation, and Christian Thought.  We attempt to vary our offerings so you can take classes from different areas, but we typically always have a Biblical Studies class.  This program lets you the learner choose what classes would be best for you to gain knowledge and live your faith.  Current classes are always found in the worship bulletin and there are signs outside the classrooms to let you know what class meets there and the DU dates.

Some examples of classes in the past: “Stained Glass Class”-a church tradition and unique feature of the church, “Don’t Sing Songs to a Heavy Heart”- a class about ministering to those that suffer, “Current Topics through a Scriptural Lens”-a current issues class from a Christian perspective, and “Surprised by Hope”-a class about God’s kingdom, heaven, and rethinking our role on earth.
We hope you will make it out to start Sundays off in community learning, sharing, and getting to know others in the church through study.
